Technical monographs on the medicinal plants used in Australian practice. Each entry covers the plant’s names and source, its botany in the hand and under the microscope, its chemistry and marker compounds, TLC and HPLC fingerprints, tests for identity and purity, traditional and current use, the clinical research, safety and interactions, with every reference listed in full.

Each entry is listed here once it has been checked and released. The Institute’s literature reviews are in the Journal in the meantime, and plain-English guides are on the Blog.
How the series is built. Monographs are added in alphabetical order, working through the herbs in everyday use by Australian practitioners. Each one is reviewed by the Institute’s botanical, quality and medical staff before it is released, and the opening pages of every monograph are free to read.
