Report a product

Labels on nicotine products, herbal medicines and supplements make specific claims: so many milligrams per millilitre, so much per pouch, this much of a named plant per capsule. If you think something you bought doesn’t match what its label says, tell us. We log every report, look for patterns across brands and batches, and decide which products to investigate further.

Useful reports are specific. The brand, the exact product, the batch number off the box and what the label promises let us match your report against others. You don’t need proof. A product that tastes far weaker than the last batch, or one that hits much harder than the strength printed on it, is worth telling us about.

Please write in plain text and don't paste links. If we need photos of the packaging or a sample, we'll email you and arrange it.

We use the details you give in this form only to reply to your message and to keep a record of our correspondence. Your message is received and handled on the Institute's own systems. We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it. Please do not send health information about yourself or anyone else. This form is not for medical or poisoning emergencies: in an emergency call 000, and for poisoning call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26. See our Privacy Policy.

If you think a product has harmed you or someone else, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26, or 000 in an emergency. You can also report problems with therapeutic goods, including nicotine vapes, directly to the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Reporting to us doesn’t replace that.
